Applying Press-On Nails
How To Apply Press-On Nails
Gather necessary tools
- Press-on nails
- Nail glue stickers or nail glue (optional)
- Nail file or buffer
- Cuticle pusher or orange stick
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton Round/Ball
Preparation
- Prep your natural nails: Remove any old nail polish and push back your cuticles. Use rubbing alcohol and cotton round/ball to remove any oils from your nail beds. Wash your hands to ensure they're clean and dry.
- Choose the right nail: Select the press-on nail that best fits your natural nail bed.
Application
- Find the correct size of nail glue sticker. Peel the backing off the nail glue sticker and place it onto your natural nail, positioning it where you want the press-on nail to adhere. Gently press the sticker onto your nail, making sure it's centered and smooth. OR if using nail glue, apply a tiny dot to the back of the press-on nail and the center of your natural nail.
- Place the press-on nail: Align the press-on nail with your natural nail, starting at the center and gently pressing outward. Hold for a few seconds to secure.
- Press and hold: Press the nail firmly onto your natural nail, making sure it's centered and secure. Hold for about 10-15 seconds.
- Repeat for all nails: Apply the remaining press-on nails, following steps 1-3.
Finishing Touches
- Shape and file: Although our nails come pre-shaped and filed, you can customize to your liking, by using a nail file or buffer to shape and smooth out any excess glue or ridges.
- Clean up: Use a lint-free wipe or cotton ball with rubbing alcohol to remove any excess glue or residue.
Tips and Variations
- To extend the wear of your press-on nails, apply a small amount of nail glue to the tip of the nail and wrap it around the edge of your natural nail.
- Use a nail glue with a built-in primer for extra hold.
- Apply a base coat to your natural nail before applying the press-on nail for added protection.
- To remove press-on nails soak your nails in nail glue remover or oil for about 10-15 minutes. Gently peel off the nail, starting from one edge.
